10 months....holy cow we are in double digits!

I can't believe that I am already planning a first birthday and I am thankful that I am not hot and pregnant like I was this time last year.

Lincoln is one fun baby right now. Here is what he is up to:

• Lincoln LOVES to eat! He is still taking 4-5 bottles a day (No more thickener, yippee!) and 3 meals a day. He will pretty much whatever we give him except watermelon and cheerios. He really will eat whatever I give him and will try to put as much as he get in his mouth at once. I am thankful that we don't a picky eater. WE had an allergy test done last month and found out that he is allergic to eggs, strawberries and bananas. It is not a severe allergy, just sensitive and he gets rashes. The dr thinks he will outgrow it so I am not too worry. It is just a pain to find a pack of kid yogurt without strawberries and bananas. And he can have things made with eggs (like pancakes) but not scrambled eggs, no biggie!
• Lincoln is a great sleeper. He has mastered a nap schedule during the day. He takes 2 a day (AM and afternoon) and both are an hour and a half to 2 hours. I love this schedule. He still sleeps about 11 hours an night. I am hoping he can stick to this schedule at day care.
• Lincoln is a social butterfly. Everywhere we go we are stopped because Lincoln is "talking" to strangers and they want to talk back. It is pretty cute until strangers start touching his head or hands then I get freaked out!
• Lincoln has started to pull up on things but is not cruising furniture yet. Crawling is still his only mode of transportation but he is fast! We are now living in a house with everything about 3 feet off the ground so he can't get it. He is hearing "no" more and more everyday. Lincoln is on the move all the time, sitting still is not his thing.
• Lincoln had a great 4th of July and loved all the fireworks. I was shocked since most loud noises startles him but he did great.
• I think Lincoln is close to saying his first word. He will say mamama and dadada when he is around us but I am still not sure if he is just making noises or calling us. Shane and I are practicing with him, so I am thinking it will be soon.

I can't think of anything new or exciting. He is just fun to be around and I am sad that summer is almost over. :(

Cousin Camp 2010

Lincoln and I have a fun-filled week with Jordan and her kiddos, Eli and Phoebe. In the past, we have packed each day they are here with many activities but this trip we had only 2 big adventures with lots of swimming in the pool and movies. It was a great week to spend together.

On Wednesday, we ventured out to Hawaiian Falls for some water fun. If you have younger children (like youngest than 14) then this is the place for you. It is more family friendly, especially for the little ones. They have a few big kid slides but lots for kids to do, such as a lazy river, many little kid slides, and a splash ground. We all had a ton of fun. The adults traded spots from watching Phoebe and Lincoln in the little kid area to riding rides with Eli.

Lincoln loves to splash in the water so he was content to sit and watch all day.
Phoebe loved this little kid slides. She would squeal as she came down then wait at the bottom for this giant water bucket to dump water on the slides then scurry up to slide again before it dumped again. Grandaddy taught her to wait for the water to dump after she was caught in the dump and was not happy about it.

Lincoln decided to chew on his swimsuit string to pass some time.

The cousins traveled up north on Friday afternoon to visit the newest cousin, Isaac. I am not sure he is ready for all this chaos but he sure is loved on already.

It is a great sign that he can already sleep with everyone around...isn't he sweet!

Saturday was a low-key day with lunch at Eno's (which is yummy) and more pool time.

Here is Super Princess. We are unsure what her super power is but she is darn cute!

We had a great week but now we are getting better. Thursday evening, Lincoln had a high fever so my mom and I took him to an Urgent Care where we were told he had an ear infection. We picked up antibiotics and Lincoln and I skipped out the zoo trip (I was very sad about this!) Then Saturday he woke up with a blister on his mouth, which we thought was a fever blister. Then he kept getting more and more blisters on his hands and between his toes so we diagnosed him with hand/foot/mouth disease. Awesome.....apparently you can only get it once so that is a plus. We think he must have gotten it from the waterpark. Eli has already had it but Phoebe had not. Sunday morning, guess who woke up with a fever? Yep, Jordan drove home with a sick little girl.

It was a great week even if it ended with being sick in the end. When you get all these kids together we know that someone is going to get something (also Grandaddy ended the week with pink eye and a chest cold!) anyone want to join our Cousin Camp?! :)

4th of July Celebrations

I love July 4th. Growing up our family always had the firework party at our house. Friends brought fireworks, we grilled hot dogs, and we stayed up late shooting off the tons of fireworks. I LOVE this holiday. Now that my parents have moved into the city limits we can shoot fireworks so we are having to make other plans. This year we celebrated with the two nights of fun.

Saturday night, we ventured out to Farmers Branch and watched the fireworks. I got to the chat with one of besties (and teaching partner) Melissa and her family. It was raining when we first got there so it was very wet but right before the fireworks started, it cleared up and the weather was great!

We were afraid that Lincoln was going to terrified of the fireworks (they are low level so they are so close and very loud) but he didn't seem fazed by them. He just sat and stared and never blinked. We were shocked! Lincoln had a late night.

Sunday we stayed around the house and got some work done. Ladies, back away he is mine!

Sunday evening we spent time swimming and grilling with my childhood friend, Casey and her little family at her parents' house in Red Oak. We lived down the street from each other from 3rd grade until we graduated from high school. I had spent many summer afternoons in that pool so it was nice to be back again.

Casey's little one, Wyatt will be two in August so it is fun to dress the boys alike for now (this picture was about the 50th one and it is the best one!)

Casey's friend, Ashley was there with her family. Her son, Parker is almost a year. The birthdays are July (Parker), August (Wyatt), and Lincoln (Septmember). Getting all the boys to look in the same direction took a lot of adults acting like fools!

We had two late nights of fun and fireworks and Lincoln actaully slpet in today (Wahoo!) It was a fun and memorable 4th! Hope yours was great too!
