Look alike?

Everyone asks if I think Lola looks like Lincoln as a baby. I don't think they look much alike. They have the same pudgy nose but that is about it. Lincoln looked JUST like Shane as a baby and I think Lola looks more like me as a baby. Some people think Lola looks like my niece Phoebe as a baby so I need to get one of her on here to compare. Here a few pictures for comparison.

What do you think?

Whether they look similar or not, they sure are cute!

Lola's First Kansas Trip

Shane and I decided that is was time for a trip to his parents. We weren't sure how the two kids would do on the long 7 hour car ride but they were FANTASTIC! One stop both ways, both slept great and Lola was the only one who cried and that was because the sun was in her eyes. It was a quick weekend but we jammed as many family members in as we could. Everyone enjoyed meeting and holding her. Lincoln had a little bit of a cough and runny nose when we left and it kept getting worse while we were there. I was a little nervous that we had made the wrong decision but with around the clock meds and more indoor play, he is back to himself.

Grandma Bostick and her 8th great-grandchildren (I think my numbers are right!)

Grandma and Grandpa Nimz with Lola~ she is the fourth great-grandchild on the Nimz side

Lincoln got a little braver with Cookie the goat

Lincoln and Gigi ate decorated cookies.

Gigi and Pappy bought Lincoln a tee ball set and a kite. Lincoln liked to watch the kite but wasn't a huge fan of holding it.

Gigi and Lincoln wrestling inside where he spent most of his time.

(This is Lincoln's newest smile. When I used to say "Show me your biggest smile" I got a cute smile from him. This is what I get now. Maybe I can get back at him at his wedding some day with these "great" smiles.)

Lola~ 1 month

Lola turned a month old on April 21. We were out of town so I am a few days late but I am sure that willl be the norm with these monthly posts.

Stats:
-At two weeks, she weighed 8 lbs 9 oz. I think she weighs about 9 or 91/2 lbs from my scale at home. We don't go back to the doctor until her 2 month check up.

Sizes:
-Diapers: Size 1
-Clothes: mostly newborn but a few 0-3 month
-Bows: BIG!

Sleeping:
-She is a wonderful sleeper. She is already going long stretch at night of 6 hours. She takes random naps during the day, some short and some longer like an hour. I am hoping to really start a schedule with her in the next few weeks.

Eating:
-We had a rough start to nursing but we have worked out all those kinks. She nurses every 3 hours with a long stretch at night. She is slow eater so some feedings take close to 45 minutes.

Likes/ Dislikes:
-She is a major cuddler and loves to be held. At times it is frustrating but I am trying to soak it up since I know this phase doesn't last long.
-She loves to be swaddled and it sleeping more and more in her pack n play rather than her swing.
-She falls asleep pretty quick in the car or the stroller but is not a fan of being in either if she is not moving.
-She will show her diva side if the sun gets in her eyes. She will scream and holler if it's a bit too sunny for her.

Lola is starting to track with her eyes more which is fun. She is filling out more and is oh so cute! She still has dark blue eyes and dark hair. Her coloring is darker than her brother's and she looks more like me than Shane.

Here a few more pictures from her first month...
Lincoln is still enjoying his sister. He is not a huge fan of her when I need to nurse and will ask for me to hold him constantly until I can. He loves for her to be in the same room with him all the time and always wants to give her a paci

Easter 2012

Easter weekend was spent with my family this year. It was a laid back, chaotic weekend. Usually those 2 words don't go together but it fit for that weekend. We had very few things scheduled for the week (mainly bluebonnet pics) so it was nice to have a weekend to just enjoy each other. But whenever you get 13 people together (5 of those are kids ranging from 8 years to 2 weeks old) it gets CrAzY! The noise level in the house got pretty loud and timeouts or spankings were dished out but overall it was a relaxing weekend to spend with each other.

These 2 cousins were meant for each other. Lincoln adores his "Fefe" and she loves him back.
A little brother/ sister moment. Their shirts say "Big Bro" and "Lil Sis".Sweet Lola!
Lincoln loved hunting for eggs.
There was lots of Lola holding that weekend. She was having withdrawals on Monday since she had to rest in her swing and not be held all day.
Phoebe LOVED holding Lola. She was kind of a baby hog and wanted to hold her ALL. THE. TIME. But who can blame her?!
Our family of 4 on Easter Sunday.
After a quick downpour of rain, we introduced the kids to confetti eggs. They were all a little hesitant at first but quickly joined in the fun.

And like all fun weekends, they all come to an end too soon usually in tears!

A first for everything

Last week included many firsts around this house...

Lola's first real bath
She didn't really fuss about it and was content most of the time until it was time for her to get out of the water. Then she had a problem.

A little sibling discussion
Lincoln has talked to Lola before this day but this time he just sat and jabbered on and on with her. She was interested in him as well.
A little story time
Lincoln got book after book to read to her. It was pretty sweet.
Mommy got all three of us dressed and out the door ALONE!
Lincoln had a doctor's appt this day so I was able to get them dressed and out the door (on time!) by myself! I felt it was a big accomplishment! (Yes Lincoln is wearing a necklace. I don't chose to fight all the battles with him!)
Father/ Son Baseball Game
Shane took Lincoln to his first Rangers game. Lincoln was a little timid at first with the crowds but loved it. He has talked about baseball ever since. I see a couple more games in his future.

A Texas Tradition

Bluebonnet pictures are just another reason to love Texas!
