Whose baby is this?!

When Lincoln was born, he looked JUST LIKE Shane. I was thankful that I carried him because you would never have guessed he was mine. But his looks sure have changed in the last 17 months and he is looking less like Shane. I don't think he looks EXACTLY like one of us but a great mixture of the two.

You decide....

This is me at 1 year.
I think Lincoln has my face shape, nose, curly hair and cheeks. (You can see the shadow of the curly hair in this picture.)

And here is a 1 year picture of Shane.

Lincoln has his eye shape (not color) chin, and blonde hair.

I think the picture below is another good picture to compare. It was taken at Xmas and he looks us both.

Lions, tigers, bears...oh my!

Texas sunshine has finally returned! We needed a day outside the house so to spend Valentines Day together as a family we decided to go to the Dallas Zoo. Last March. I bought a family membership so it was kind of like we went for free. It was great! It is nice to be able to go to the zoo and not feel like we have to stay ALL day to get our money worth. It stayed about 2 and a half hours and left in time to go to lunch at Fuzzy Tacos (yummo!)

Lincoln was not a huge fan of most the animals since they are so far away but he LOVED the fish tank. I think we need to go to the Dallas Aquarium this summer.

Looking for the tiger. He has mimicking a little girl who was doing the same thing. Lincoln is a major copycat.

If you complain about how terrible the Dallas zoo is, then you haven't been in awhile. It is perfect for little kids. They have new exhibits for the animals and it is the perfect size. FW is a great zoo but it's always crowded and it's so big that it wears me out. So we are supporters of the Dallas zoo. My favorite new exhibit is the Alligator Bayou. You walk in above the alligators and look down at them. It is so cool to see.

We finished the day with a carousel ride on the Endangered/ Extinct Carousel. I love it. (Another plus to getting a membership, free tickets on the monorail and carousel!)

Lincoln was not a fan of the carousel until he saw the girl next to him. Then he had to "man up" and not cry in front of another girl.

It was a fabulous day at the zoo and a great way to celebrate Valentines with my boys. It made me ready for summer to go again!

Happy {Heart} Day 2011!

I like Valentines. It's not for the gifts or fancy dinners but I love any excuse to use pink and red and make a fun meal. Shane and I have started the tradition of making fajitas and fondue and enjoy the time as a family. We celebrated Vday on Sunday with a trip to the zoo (post coming later) and a yummy dinner.

Lincoln's teachers are GREAT! They make crafts with the kiddos and they are always pretty cute. These "flowers" were precious. His pink hands and feet are the flowers. Seriously Lincoln has AMAZING teachers!

We had the day off so we enjoyed the day outside. For dinner tonight we had a heart shaped pizza from Pappa Murphy's. It was tasty.

I had to thrown in this picture to show his hair. Lincoln was bald for so long that I thought he would never have hair. His hair is now long on top but it is very thin (think like it's a comb-over) and it's long in back. I don't want to cut it because I am afraid he will lose the curls. See them?! Not sure when (or if) I will cut it?!

Winter in Texas

February seems to be the winter month for Texas. Last year around this time we got inches of snow and this year is looking the same. We have had 4 days off of school (and yes I am loving it!) because of ice and snow. I like the snow and it gives me reasons to stay home and get work done but I am happy to only have it one month out of the year.

This is how he really feels about the snow. He does not have any of the KS blood in him. Guess he is a beach, summer baby at heart. I can't wait to see him at the beach this summer!

So we have spent the last 4 days inside in our jammies. Lincoln has come down with something (again). He has a terrible cough, snotty nose, and a fever since Wednesday so we resting at home and enjoying the slow life.

We have enjoyed the snow this year and I am now looking forward to spring!
