I'm thankful for..

We spent a great week at my sister's with my family for Thanksgiving. I will let the pictures do the talking and Lincoln's list of "I'm thankful for...."

1. Donut holes....we left EARLY Tuesday morning and Lincoln gobbled up 9 donut holes! Yes 9!! I think he would have eaten all 12 but his Grandaddy snagged a few.
2. Super heroes and princesses who help clean up.

3. Pink cars from our cousin Phoebe....this was his favorite toy and I think almost had his daddy convinced that he needed one at home.

4. Aunt Jordan's famous mashed potatoes....Lincoln started his spoon with these potatoes, they are that good! When his bowl was empty, he would use his spoon to point at the vat of potatoes.

5. Nena (and Grandaddy)!!! She and Grandaddy love each of those kiddos more than I think possible! They were in grandparent heaven all four together.

6. A homemade magical wand.....Lincoln played with his fair share of princess/ girlie toys this week. He came home and picked back up with his cars and trucks though.

7. Practicing walking...he started to really take more steps this week. One night he went back and forth to us for a long time. I think by Christmas we will a full-time walker.

8. A baby cousin to love on.....This picture with Isaac was not staged. Anytime Lincoln was in grasping distance of Isaac he wanted to love on him. He would pat his head (or face), hug him, and give many open mouthed kisses. It was the first time Lincoln ever showed real affection to another baby. It was so sweet! But who wouldn't want to love on that fluffy, squishy baby?!

9. Cute Thanksgiving shirts....Nena whipped these up for the grandbabies. They were the cutest kiddos on Thanksgiving!

We had a great week and I am sad to be back to work tomorrow. But only 14 1/2 more school days until Christmas break! Hope you were as blessed this week!

A quick update

After our crazy busy October we have had a pretty uneventful November. We spent many nights and weekends do nothing which was nice but it meant I took little pictures.

The latest event was Lincoln's tubes surgery today. Since Lincoln has had so many ear infections his first year, we made the decisions to go ahead and have it done. We planned on today so we could have the week off to recover but it was a little different than planned. He woke up with a 102 fever so we were unsure for a bit if it would actually happen. The doctors decided to go ahead and have it done to prevent any more infections. He has spent most of the day sleeping (he took a 5 hour nap!) I am hoping he is the same tomorrow.

Since I can't have a post without pictures I included a couple recent ones.

Here is his snazzy outfit for a donut run on Saturday morning.
When the weather is nice we let Lincoln play on the backporch with the window and door open. It is pretty fun to peek at us through the screen.

Sorry for the absence of blogging, I am hoping to be better with all the holiday festivities on the calendar.

Christmas cards

If you know me at all then you know I am holiday lover. From 4th of July to Christmas, I get excited about them all! It drives Shane crazy that I feel that all holidays need a big "tada" in order to celebrate. Christmas tops the list as the favorite but 4th of July comes as a close second.

I love everything about Christmas. The smells, looking at Christmas lights, being with family, the food, the buying of gifts and so on. Growing up my family always decked out the house (my mom felt that the decorations needed to spread throughout the house and look like Christmas had thrown up in one room, which I am sure drove my dad "The Grinch" crazy). I am excited to be in a new house (bigger too) that I can decorate this year.

Starting around Thanksgiving checking the mail gets exciting too. You are start to notice a lot more than just bills, Christmas cards arrive! I love to see how families have grown and changed and what cute idea they came up with for a picture. Our family has already tried to coordinate in our picture, some years good and some not so good. I am excited to send our family cards this year, it is on my to do list next week so they can be in the mail the week after Thanksgiving.

Another question for all you out there, where do you put your Christmas cards you receive? I usually put them on the fridge but they take up too much space and I now have a little boy who pulls everything off and tries to shove things under the fridge. So where do your cards go?!
