11 months

This time last year I was hot and ready to not be pregnant anymore. Well now I am still hot but enjoying this little busy body!

Here is what Lincoln is up to now:
  • Still sleeping like a champ. Daycare has thrown off his 2 naps a day schedule but he is adjusting and takes at least one good nap a day. He still sleeps 7:30 pm-6:30 a, every night.
  • Still eating like he will never get food again! Seriously there are times that I have to just stop and take the food away because he would eat forever. His teachers say he is a healthy eater for his size but isn't the biggest eater in the class. He loves everything we have given him. He still can not have strawberries, bananas, and eggs but that has not slowed him down. He takes 4 to 5 bottles a day and I am hoping we can start weaning him off soon some of those bottles.
  • We did not have a well- check up this month but we had a trip to CareNow (urgent, weekend clinic) and he weighs a little over 20 lbs! Yippee!
  • We moved from the infant seat to the big boy carseat. Riding in the car was getting too stressful on us all so we just took the plunge and he loves it! I think he is getting more AC and can see us when he faces forward.
  • Daycare has been an adjustment for us all. I have already posted about this but I am happy to say that we are now going on 4 days in a row of NO TEARS! YAY! Lincoln just needed a few days to realize that I wasn't leaving him for good. I have only great things to say about his teachers and the daycare so I am thankful that he is there.
  • Lincoln is a BUSY boy! He is constantly moving somewhere. No walking yet but he crawls everywhere fast. He loves the stairs and the pantry...both are a big no! I think walking is the near future but not before his 1st bday. He is still cautious about standing on his own without holding onto anything.
  • Lincoln now says "momma" and "dadda" but momma was first (YES!!!) and it is more frequent. He has also just started giving open mouth kisses, so sweet but sloppy.

Nothing else too major. We are switching doctors at his 1 year checkup so I hope that we have fond the right one. We are ready for his bday (not really for the party but I still have a few weeks, right?!)

Lincoln is very fun and keeps us busy!

Love his serious face!
This was taken a couple of weekends ago when we made a quick trip to Abilene to visit my grandparents and my sis was there as wel. I love this picture when everyone was singing for Lincoln, which is one of his favorite things!

Back to School (a week late!)

This was meant to to be posted a week ago when I started back to school for inservice days and Lincoln started full time at daycare. But it was a crazy week so imagine this was a week ago!

Starting at a new school has been crazy and stressful on both Lincoln and I. For me, it is usual feeling being a new teacher all over again with getting down all the routines and such of a new school. I am catching on but today (first day with kids) was crazy busy and I thankful to have it over!
Lincoln started at the district daycare and it has been a HUGE change for him! He started to develop separation anxiety with me over the last couple weeks of summer and cries when he is left anywhere. Dropping Lincoln off the first week was hard, he would start to cry the instant we got in his room and that is hard on this momma. His teachers say that once he is engaged in something then he is fine (usually that is breakfast!) This crying has not gotten better and it is sad to just leave him there. (Prayers are welcome for Lincoln to get adjusted soon!) I sure do love to pick him up though....he seems me coming in and he crawls very fast and determined to get to me....I LOVE it! I know the daycare is the best place (he is in a room with 5 other babies his age and 3 teachers, who all say good things about him!) but it is hard to leave him.
I know all the stress will get better and we both feel at ease but for now we are still adjsuting!

Here is my sweet boy on the first day of daycare...he had no clue what was to come!

Summer has come to an end

We have had a relaxing, quiet summer which was great for us. We ended our summer vacation on Monday night with a trip for Marble Slab ice cream....is there any better way?! Nope!
Can you tell that Lincoln loves ice cream?!
I am thankful that I have a long break to be home with Lincoln but I am very sad that is it almost over. In a couple months, I will start my countdown to Thanksgiving Break!
I hope your summer was great!
