Lola~ 11 months

This time last year I was very over being pregnant and I just thought I knew what busy was like. Lola fits right in with this family but she does keep us on our toes.

Sleeping:
  • Lola goes to bed about 7:15 after a bottle and will sleep until 6:30ish. Sometimes we wake her up to about 10 before we head to bed to avoid her waking up at 2 am. Sometimes it works and other nights she still wakes up at 2 am. If she wakes up in the middle of the night, she will eat and go right back to sleep. The pedi says it is normal to still wake up and eat as long as she goes right back to sleep. That does not say normal in this house!
  • Lola does not need much to go to sleep. She takes her paci (sometimes), covers up with her blankie and falls asleep on her own. Sometimes I will rock her but it is more for me than her.

(Lola loves to look at her baby dolls in her cabinet. She will stand up and bang on the glass.)

Eating
  • This girl can eat! She was doing great on her baby food but has discovered that she likes table food better. She rarely finishes a jar at home because she would rather eat what we eat. I still try to give her a jar because of the whole waking up at night business. At school, her teachers say she has no problem with jar food and snacks. She is the oldest in the class so I think that is difference.
  • She prefers waffles, strawberries, mac n cheese and green beans. She has had her taste of donuts and angel food cake as well. She will take very small bites of meat but does not prefer it to other foods.
  • Lola still takes about 4 bottles a day ranging from 6-8 oz at a time.
Personality
  • Oh Lordy, this girl has one! She is so friendly and smiley. Her motto is still, "Life is a party!" and does not know a stranger. She will go to almost anyone as long as she can still see me.
  • Lola started waving recently and has been known to catch lots of attention when are out because she will just wave and smile at everyone.
  • Lola is our wild child. Lincoln was (and still is) very timid and cautious with new situations and people but she is not. She will go for whatever she wants no matter who (or what) is in the way.

New development
  • Lola is still not walking (YAY!) She will cruise the furniture but crawling is still her fastest way to get around. She has started standing alone for a brief time but sits down once she realizes that she is standing.
  • Lola's newest word is Hi. She says high pitch and almost always to Lincoln. "Hi Bubba" is what he hear almost every morning. This girl is quite the morning person. She will stand in her crib with crazy bed hair and the biggest grin to whoever comes in.
  • Lola has also added "bebe" (baby) to her list of vocabulary. Her teachers at school say she will pat her friends who are only a little younger than her and say "bebe" over and over.
  • She has started signing more and please which is totally due to her teachers. We have started practicing more at home but they go the ball rolling.
  • Lola will finally hold her own bottle. This is a little sad because she doesn't want to cuddle as much but she is now able to drink from her sippy cup at meal times.
  • Her top two teeth finally came in. This helps with eating more table food because I was always afraid she would choke with only her bottom two.

Stats:
  • No dr appt this month so I have no stats but she is still a tall girl.
  • She still wears some 9 month clothes but all one piece outfits are 12 month.
  • She is still in size 3 diapers.

Oh this girl brings us such joy! We laugh at her daily and she keeps us on our toes.
Her 1st bday is coming up fast and I am in denial!
