We started our new pediatrician last week and so far we like him. He suggested we go to an allergist for a skin prick to see what allergies Lincoln has and see an ENT about tubes soon. He thinks it is in Lincoln's best interest for tubes as soon as possible this season before he has another nasty ear infection like the last one. So I am looking for doctors now.
What Lincoln is up to now....
- Weighs 21 lbs 2 os (24th percentile which the biggest he has ever been so table food is doing great things for him), height he is in 50th percentile and head is in the 90th percentile. I was shocked at his weight because he jumped so much in the last 3 months but if you have ever watched Lincoln eat a meal then you know why.
- The doctor said we could switch Lincoln from formula to cow's milk (yippee!) and to start the milk in sippy cups and not bottles so weaning him off bottles would be easier. So Shane and I decided this weekend that we would take away ALL bottles and just use sippy cups....not a good plan! He has not had much at all this weekend because he is refusing to drink out his sippy cup for more than about 2 sips. So tonight after going like this all weekend we have decided to give him a bottle in the morning (his favorite) and one at night (he is 50/50 on this one so it will be first to go). I am afraid he will lose a lot of calories if he doesn't drink milk at all. We are keeping only sippy cups during the day and will slowly take away the morning bottle but I think we hit him with too many changes this weekend.
- Lincoln is one smart boy. When asked "How old are you?" He will hold up one finger, not always on cue to strangers but he does it to familiar people. Daycare is when he does it the most. He is also pointing more and more. He started clapping to music and "dancing". He got a guitar for his birthday and he will dance to that music for a long time. Car rides are fun too since he will bob his head and clap to upbeat songs.
- The only recognizable words are momma and dadda but he jabbers all the time. He will make a "vmmmmm" sound when playing with cars but that is about all the understandable words.
- He still eats like a machine. He can pretty much whatever we eat, except eggs. The egg allergy is why we are going to allergist because with Lincoln in daycare his doctor wants him to have the flu shot but you can't if you are allergic to eggs. And eggs are an allergy that can be outgrown so we want to know when he can have them. But Lincoln eats 3 good meals a day with snacks throughout. He is not is huge juice fan so he mostly gets water.
- He still sleeps great and it finally taking 2 naps a day at school.
- He is finally happy when he gets dropped off at daycare. He smiles and goes to his teachers and has a great time. His teachers say he is a joy to have in class and loves to dance with them to music. He sure does show his personality in class.
- Lincoln is still not walking but is cruising the furniture. My parents got him a walking toy for his birthday so he is getting a little more daring with it. He doesn't like to stand alone but will walk all around the house if holding onto something.
Lincoln is quite the character now and is doing something to make us laugh everyday.

This is his birthday plate that I made that he will eat on every birthday until he completely hates it. I hope he humors me until he leaves for college then it will go to his wife someday and she can cherish it.
