Celebrating 90 years

My grandfather celebrated his 90th birthday on June 12th. We decided to throw him a "small" family get together. I use small loosely since that side of the family is anything but small. We held the party at a park and ate some tasty BBQ in good ole Abilene.

Lincoln might have eaten his weight in watermelon that day.

This is my dad's generation. My Grandfather had 4 children and he remarried about 30 years ago after his wife passed away. Mimi is his second wife (but the only grandmother I have known on that side) and she has 3 sons from her previous marriage. So together they have 7 children. This is 6 of those children with some spouses mixed in.
 The next generation....
Together Grandfather and Mimi have a total of 24 grandchildren!!! There was only 14 present at the party. This is the 14 grandchildren with spouses mixed in too.

The latest generation.....
Between Grandfather and Mimi, there are 15 great grandchildren!!! There were 12 at the party.

We had a pinata for the youngest generation to play. Eli was not a fan of the rules since we let the order be youngest to oldest.
Grandfather was one of 7 children and is the only still living so we invited some of my dad's cousins to come and celebrate Uncle Grady. My sister's camera was the only one to capture all the people in one picture, which came to about 50 people!

I loved having most of this family all in one place. Some of these cousins had not seen each other in years so it was fun to reconnect and spend some time together!

Grandfather is a wonderful man who lives his life through acts of service. I am blessed to have a wonderful example in my life.
